Vincent Thomas Bridge Wraps

Recently, we were was asked, “Why is the VTB, wrapped in plastic?”

The VTB (Vincent Thomas Bridge), in Long Beach, is undergoing usual maintenance. Caltrans maintenance crew members are preparing the surface of the bridge for new paint. The white plastic wrap will prevent paint and water from falling onto motorists below while crews at work.

The VTB is located on the SR-47. It is a cable-suspension bridge, which is approximately 6062 ft long and opened in 1964.
