Speed Limit Change on Arroyo Seco Parkway (SR-110)? Not So Fast.

There have been several news reports and rumors that the speed limit on the SR-110 is going to be lowered from 55 mph to 45 mph very soon.  This is not the case and nothing has been set in stone.

One of the recommendations of Arroyo Seco Corridor Partnership Plan (CPP) made amongst many others was that the speed limit could be reduced.  Agency partners participating in the planning process include Caltrans, Southern California Area Governments, Federal Highway Administration, and several of the communities and residents along SR-110.  This recommendation coincides with other recommendations that would require several operational changes to the highway – changes that require more statutory study and funding.

The plan is only one of the many steps that many freeway projects go through to ensure that the communities affected by a project have a chance to provide input.
