Caltrans will conduct a series of brief, intermittent, FULL FREEWAY closures in the early morning hours on northbound and southbound Santa Ana Freeway (I-5) between Valley View Ave and Carmenita Rd in La Mirada and Santa Fe Springs on Tuesday through Friday, Sept. 11 - 14, from 1 am-5 am.
California Highway Patrol will conduct traffic breaks for the FULL closures. Each FULL FREEWAY closure – 3 to 4 per night in each direction – will last approximately 10 to 12 minutes and will take place hourly.
The nightly schedule is:
Tuesday, Sept. 11 @ 1 am to 5 am
Wednesday, Sept. 12 @ 1 am to 5 am
Thursday, Sept. 13 @ 1 am to 5 am
The work involves relocating utility lines across the freeway. Southern California Edison will perform the work, with Caltrans oversight, as part of the I-5 HOV Widening and Carmenita Road Interchange Project.

The closures are weather-permitting and are subject to cancellation.
