Southbound I-405 Off-ramp to Westbound Wilshire Blvd. to Close for Two Weeks

This just in from Metro: the southbound I-405 off-ramp to westbound Wilshire Boulevard will close for two weeks beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013. The new ramp is scheduled to open by 6 a.m. Friday, March 22.

The closure is part of the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project, and more specifically, improvements to the I-405/Wishire Boulevard interchange. The ramp closure is necessary so that crews can demolish the existing off-ramp, rebuild it, pave the roadway and shift K-rail. If you’re keeping track, this is the third ramp to be demolished and rebuilt as part of the eight-ramp Wilshire interchange improvement work.

If you normally use the closed ramp or nearby ramps, save yourself some grief and plan ahead, adjust your travel times, or share the ride with someone else during the next two weeks to reduce traffic impacts. Better yet, do all three!

Check out the detour map above or on the Metro site. Changeable message signs will be used and traffic control officers will be on scene to help direct drivers and mitigate traffic impacts.

As always, the construction schedule is subject to change based on daily progress, weather and field conditions. Get updates and more info here.
