Don’t pile onto LA's freeways and highways with every other beachgoer.  Our partners at the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works have a great deal.

Summer is back!

And for many that means sunscreen, flip-flops, boogie boards, and the beach!

Starting as early as Memorial Day and running through Labor Day you can beat the summer heat at one of Southern California's great beach destinations, Santa Monica, and get there and back in the comfort of an air-conditioned, wheelchair-accessible bus.

The Summer Beach Bus Program, administered by LA County Public Works, provides service between the Los Angeles County areas of Altadena, Palmdale and Lancaster in Antelope Valley, Castaic/West Ranch in Santa Clarita Valley, Charter Oak/Duarte, East Los Angeles, La Crescenta/La Cañada Flintridge, and Topanga Canyon to the Santa Monica Municipal Pier and State Beach. The Topanga Canyon Service also provides stops at Topanga State Beach and Will Rogers State Beach.

Reservations are required for the service and can be made up to one week in advance but no later than 24 hours prior to the trip departure time. Round trip fares begin as low as $2. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. For reservations, scheduled times, and more information, call toll free (888) 769-1122 or visit
