The Angeles Crest Highway (SR-2) will remain closed between Islip Saddle (intersection of SR-2 and SR-39 or 43 miles east of La Cañada Flintridge) and Big Pines Road until early August 2015 due to rock slides and roadway damage caused by this past weekend’s storms.  The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has assessed the damage and is in the process of hiring a contractor to repair the highway.

For 18.3 miles there are rock slides, washouts along the slopes, and damaged drains and pipes.

Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians should consider alternates routes, as this section (18.3 miles) of highway is off-limits to those without permitted access. Trespassers are subject to potential citation or arrest by law enforcement.

Remember to Be Work Zone Alert.
