Click map to enlarge.
Beginning the week of August 4, 2015, through 2017, Empire Avenue and Victory Place will have a new traffic configuration that will prohibit left turns, reduce lanes and remove parking, as follows:

➤ Left Turns Prohibited: Left turns from northbound Victory Place to westbound Empire Avenue, and from eastbound Empire Avenue to northbound Victory Place will be prohibited.

➤ Lanes Reduced: Traffic on Empire Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Victory Place and Valpreda Street.

➤ Parking Removed: Street parking on the north side of Empire Avenue will be removed between Victory Place and Valpreda Street.

This new traffic configuration is necessary to allow crews to construct the new Empire Avenue I-5 interchange.

The work is part of the I-5 Empire Project, a series of improvements to I-5 in Burbank between Magnolia Boulevard and Buena Vista Street, including: carpool lanes, elevated railroad tracks, reconfigured ramps, a new interchange and undercrossing at Empire Avenue, widening of the Burbank Boulevard Bridge, and more.
