On September 8, the new temporary railroad tracks (aka shoofly) in Burbank began operation. These tracks will be in use while the new elevated tracks are constructed, which will take about a year. Work is already underway on the elevated tracks, and construction will really ramp up this weekend when the Buena Vista pile driving operation begins. Details:
WHERE AND WHEN: The work will take place near the intersection of Buena Vista Street and San Fernando Boulevard. Signed detours will be provided. The I-5 on- and off-ramps will remain OPEN. During work hours, Buena Vista Street northbound and southbound will be closed as follows:
+ September 19 – October 4, 2015Northbound and southbound Buena Vista Street from Winona Avenue to San Fernando Boulevard will be fully closed on weekends from Saturday mornings at 6 a.m. to Sunday evenings at 8 p.m.+ September 21 – October 16, 2015One lane of northbound Buena Vista Street from San Fernando Boulevard to Winona Avenue will be closed on weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Flaggers will direct motorists.
IMPACTS: You may notice noise and vibration during this operation, particularly if you live or work near the area.
