Got weekend plans yet? You do now!
CicLAvia celebrates its fifth year with the classic Heart of LA route this Sunday, October 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you’ve never been, CicLAvia is a free event that catalyzes vibrant public spaces, active transportation and good health through car-free streets. It’s an experience, not a race, and fun for the whole family. No registration is required and there’s no starting or ending point. All you need to do is show up somewhere along the route (see map here), travel any direction you like by foot, bike, board or other non-motorized transportation, and most important, have fun!
The six-mile Heart of LA route will take you through Boyle Heights, the Arts District, Little Tokyo, Civic Center, Chinatown, Historic Core and as far west as Macarthur Park. And there are activities galore along the route, which has four hubs: Hollenbeck Park, Grand Park, Chinatown and MacArthur Park. Each hub offers CicLAvia information and merchandise, food trucks, bike parking, bike repair, free water, restrooms, sponsor booths, and first aid stations.
More info about CicLAvia is here. Hope to see you there!
