55-Hour Closure of Century Blvd. Ramps to I-405

Caltrans will close the Century Boulevard on- and off-ramps of the southbound San Diego Freeway (I-405) for 55-hours, starting at 10 p.m. Friday, July 29 to 5 a.m. Monday, August 1.

La Cienega Boulevard on- and off-ramps will remain open.  Motorists headed to this area should expect delays and consider alternate routes.  A signed detour will be posted.

The closed ramps will be repaved as part of a $12.2 million project to repave I-405 from El Segundo Boulevard to Venice Boulevard (SR-187) in the cites of Inglewood, Hawthorne, and Culver City.  Rubberized hot mix asphalt (RHMA) will be used.  RHMA will increase the use-life of the highway and provide a smoother and quieter ride.

This contract was awarded to Security Paving, Inc. of Sylmar, California.  The project is funded by the State Highway Operation and Protection Program and is expected to finish by the end of 2017.

The California Highway Patrol will be on duty.  Please Be Work Zone Alert #BWZA.
